Hand Spinning of Organic Cotton Fibers to make Yarn
Hand Spinning of Organic Cotton Fibers to make Yarn

KHADI DENIM fabric is made out of yarn which has been spun BY HAND, unlike the other hand-woven denim fabric in which the yarn is machine-spun.

The hand-spun yarn is softly twisted, directly from unprocessed cotton fibers, and retains all natural properties of cotton, and comes with a very typical slubbiness (variation in thickness along the length) and fluffiness, which can not be replicated in machine-spun yarn. It is a completely artisanal product.

A. The hand-made denim fabric offered by Denim Club is produced in remote rural areas of India, in villages inhabited by the traditional weavers, who have been weaving fabric on hand-looms for generations.

It is not a “factory-like” set-up. We do it exactly the same way it has always been done, for centuries, without disturbing the handloom weaving eco-system.

The entire family of the weaver is involved in the process, and everyone, including the women, has a role to play.

The entire process is carried out without using any electrically operated machinery, and without burning any fuels.

The looms and other preparatory equipment is installed within the four walls of the home of the weaving family. They generally work during day time, in natural sun light

If we have stock of any item, we can ship out even a few meters of the fabric.

If we do not have an item in stock, we require a minimum order of 200 meters of one variety, in one color, to make it for you.

Please note that we generally do not hold inventories of our products, as most of these are customized for the customers.

We require around 6-8 weeks, after the receipt of confirmed order with advance payment, for dispatching the first lot of fabric for custom orders.

We do not provide free samples.

However, we do offer a Fabric Sample Kit to make it easier for you to familiarise yourself with our diverse range of eco-friendly hand-woven selvedge denim fabrics.

The Fabric Sample Kit comprises of fabric pieces measuring 25 cm x 50 cm, large enough to allow you to get proper feel of the fabric.

The Fabric Sample Kit also contains a full-width, 2 meters long piece of white (undyed) fabric. This fabric can be dyed and cut and sewn to make a sample.
