We offer all our hand-woven selvedge denim fabrics on a Made To Order basis. And, we actually make the fabric you order exactly as per your requirement and specifications.
Check out the various parameters mentioned in the following sections, which all together define the fabric that will be made. You can customize most of these parameters to order the fabric of your choice.
For example, you can order a 9 oz fabric, made from hand-spun dyed cotton yarn in warp, and undyed hand-spun cotton yarn in weft, with a 12 mm white selvedge, in 40 inches width, with a stripe design of dark brown and light-brown colors, with the stripe width being half of an inch, supplied in roll length of 20 meters.
RAW MATERIAL
100% COTTON
The khadi / hand-loom denim is made out of good quality cotton fibre. The fibre composition is 100% cotton. The yarn used is mill-made for hand-loom denim and hand-spun for khadi denim.
We also offer organic cotton handloom selvedge denim and organic cotton khadi selvedge denim (fabric made from organically grown cotton) on special request.
We do NOT use synthetic stretch materials like lycra or spandex in our fabrics, at all.
THE 3x1 WEAVE
3 Up 1 Down
We still stick to the age-old definition of “denim” when it comes to the basic weave.
All our eco-friendly selvedge denim is woven in the “3 Up 1 Down” Twill weave pattern.
By default, we offer Right Hand Twill, but can also make Left hand Twill if you specifically require it.
We do NOT offer plain weave or the “2 Up 1 Down” Twill weave fabrics by default. However, in case you require these for some of your collections, we can make them specially for you.
FABRIC WIDTH
NARROW
The khadi / hand-loom denim fabric offered by Denim Club comes in narrow width – our standard width is 100 cms (40 inches) including the selvedge.
We can also produce fabric in other widths, from 30 inches to 48 inches, as per your specific requirements. The minimum order quantity for such orders is 500 meters.
FABRIC WEIGHT
4.5-13 Oz
The khadi / hand-loom denim fabric is offered in different weights, ranging from 4.5/5 to 13/14 ozs per sq. yard.
The light weight fabrics in the 4.5 – 6 ozs per sq. yard range are perfect for making shirts, kurtas, kurtis, tops, bow ties etc.
The fabrics in the 6 – 8 ozs per sq. yard range are ideal for making pyjamas, pants, thick shirts, blazers, summer jackets, dresses, skirts, shorts, caps, cushion covers, laptop sleeves bowties, and many other accessories.
The fabrics in the 9 – 13 ozs per sq. yard range are most suitable for making jeans, jackets, coats, skirts, shorts, etc
FABRIC ROLLS
15-30 m
The handloom denim fabric is offered in the form of rolls.
The continuous length of fabric cut off from the loom varies from 15 metres to 30 metres, depending on a variety of factors, like fabric weight, length of warp in beam, tension in warp threads, etc.
We can supply a pre-decided fixed roll length for larger orders on special requests.
THE SELVEDGE
5-12 mm
In all our hand-woven denim fabrics, we value the selvedge the most!
All our fabrics are woven on traditional shuttle looms. Every inch of all our varieties of khadi / hand-loom denim fabric comes with a selvedge on both ends of the fabric.
The color and width (5mm to 12 mm) of selvedge can be customized as per your requirement.
STRIPES & CHECKS
DESIGN
We can offer custom made stripes and checks as per your specific requirement, for our complete range of fabrics.
You can specify the color combinations and width of stripes as per your own designs and we shall make the fabric as per your specifications.
FABRIC SAMPLE KIT
Fabric Sample Kit
The kit comprises of 20+ samples of eco-friendly hand-woven selvedge denim fabric, in different weights and colors, with complete technical specifications.
Each sample measures 20 cm x 40 cm … PLUS … you also get one full width fabric piece of 2 meters.

We have put together a Fabric Sample Kit to make it easier for you to familiarise yourself with our diverse range of eco-friendly hand-woven selvedge denim fabrics.
The kit comprises of 20+ fabric samples, each measuring 20cm x 40 cm, and one full-width 2 meter length of fabric.
The Sample Kit comes in the form of a sturdy card box case, very easy to hold and carry with a handle attached on one side, and an openable flap that is held in place by magnetic catchers.
Complete technical specifications, like warp & weft count, end & picks per inch, dyes and dyeing method used, fabric weight, etc., are provided for each of the fabric sample included in the kit.
