Mar 2018India has a long tradition of excellence in making high quality handloom products with extraordinary skills and craftsmanship, which are unparalleled in the world. The intricate workmanship of the handlooms provides this segment a unique identity of its own.
Denim, on the other hand, originated from the city of Nimes, in France, and has been in use in America since the late 18th century.
We, at Denim Club India, have converged the two iconic concepts – hand-looming and denim – and introduced a new avtar of denim, which is eco-friendly, socially responsible, and completely innovative, all at the same time.
The eco-friendly selvedge denim is produced by a manual process, without using any electrically operated machines, at any stage of the process.
We take pride in the fact that we produce the world’s finest, hand-woven selvedge denim, in India, using the age old traditional craft of hand-weaving, in villages in the remote rural areas, where life moves at a slow pace, in sync with the nature, even today.
We take pride in the fact that every meter of our eco-friendly selvedge denim provides respectable employment to men and women in villages of India. At the same time, this initiative of ours contributes towards preserving and reviving the age-old craft of hand-weaving.
